Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder
By Paula Williamson, guest writer
There is some truth to that, but an absent mom, dad, child, or spouse does not make the heart grow fonder. One can be absent and present at the same time. Looking to people to meet our deepest needs can lead to disappointment when they aren't there as we expect. There is One will never leave, fail, or forsake you.
It Is Written
PSALM 27: 10 Although my father and my mother have abandoned me, Yet the Lord will take me up [adopt me as
His child].
DEUTERONOMY 31:6 "Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you."
One Who Never Leaves
God is omnipresent, meaning He is always here. His Word promises that He will never leave, fail, or forsake You. It takes childlike faith to believe this. People are imperfect. No matter how perfect we try to be, we will fail at some point. Humans were never meant to be our Savior. We have only One. He is intimately acquainted with us in all our ways. He promises He will never leave us, fail us, or forsake us. He keeps His Word.
Prayer
Lord, help us understand that we do not need to seek a sign or confirmation that You are with us. Your Word tells us so, and You do not lie. In Psalm 139, You know when we rise and when we lie down. You are intimately acquainted with us in all our ways. We need only believe with the faith of a little child.
Takeaway
You are with us always

God was so tender to think of me to have this post sent to me when I am struggling in the absence and destruction of the enemy in the lives of my family and those I love on this earth. I repent for placing them above my relationship with the Lord, and I receive His forgiveness. Thank you Lord!
