God Still Speaks

In scripture, God spoke to Adam, Eve, Cain, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Joshua, Samuel, David, Elijah, Job, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Jonah, many prophets, and the entire nation of Israel at Mount Sinai. Jesus spoke to people personally throughout the New Testament. Scripture says He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. It also says to ask and keep on asking, to seek and keep on seeking, and to knock, and the door shall be opened. Are we asking? Do we believe He speaks to us?

It Is Written:

JEREMIAH 33:3 ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’

How Does God Speak?

Scripture clearly says that if I call unto Him, He will answer me and reveal great and unsearchable things I do not know. Henry Blackaby says God speaks through the Bible, prayer, circumstances, the Holy Spirit, and the church. Scripture also says His sheep hear His voice. Jesus calls us into a personal relationship with Himself. If we have the faith of a little child, we must believe He still speaks and has not changed. He is God and can speak however He chooses, just as He did in history. The children of Israel were so terrified of His voice that they asked Him to speak to them through Moses. They did not want to hear His voice. He has not changed. Have we?

Prayer

Lord, Your word says that if we call unto You, You will answer and reveal to us great and unsearchable things we do not know. It also says, “Your sheep hear Your voice.” In the book of Revelation, it says repeatedly, "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying." Scripture tells me to ask and keep on asking, seek and keep on seeking, and knock, and the door will be opened. Today I am asking. I want to hear and obey Your voice. Speak to me in whatever way You choose, and give me ears to hear what the Spirit is saying.
