I've Got Nothing to Give

I’ve got nothing to give. Big fat lie!

Have you ever worked on a puzzle only to find one piece missing? You are the only piece that embodies you. No one else can be you. There is only one you. You were sent into this world at this time with a God-anointed, appointed destiny. Yours alone. Without you, a piece of the big picture is missing.

I love little things. I once found a little tiny book that had a poem by William Brightly Rands that echoes to me the power that resides within each person.

Great, Wide, Beautiful, Wonderful World

Great, wide, beautiful, wonderful World, With the wonderful water round you curled, And the wonderful grass upon your breast-World, you are beautifully dressed. The wonderful air is over me, And the wonderful wind is shaking the tree. It walks on the water and whirls the mills, and talks to itself on the tops of the hills. You friendly Earth! How far do you go, With the wheat-fields that nod and the rivers that flow, With cities and gardens, and cliffs, and isles, And people upon you for thousands of miles? Ah, you are so great, and I am so small, I tremble to think of you, World, at all; And yet, when I said my prayers today, A whisper inside me seemed to say,“You are more than the Earth, though you are such a dot: You can love and think, and the Earth cannot!”

In the grand scheme of things

We are a dot, no bigger than a puzzle piece, but what an important dot!

It is written:

1 CORINTHIANS 13:13 Truth: Oh Lord, when all else fails, Your love is in me, and it does not fail. And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is LOVE.

I Challenge You

Go out there in the big, wide world and love today. It can be through a smile, a compliment, a simple word, sharing a meal, paying it forward, or a random act of kindness. Just do it! You matter, they matter, we all matter!

Prayer

Lord, help me just to be me today. Show me the difference I make just by being me. Whether it is to bring pleasure to your heart just as the Blue Jay sings his song, help me to make my voice heard. Help me to be the song someone needs to hear, even if it’s just to You.

Devotional Take Away

You matter. The world needs the love inside of you. You may be a dot, but you matter to the whole picture.
