My Provider

I have personally been a single mom, lying awake at night wondering how I was going to pay the bills, put food on the table, cover taxes, doctor visits, counseling, utilities, and everything else that kept piling up. The numbers did not add up. The needs felt endless.
And yet, when I look back over my life, what stands out most is not the fear—it is the faithfulness of God in my most desperate days.
It Is Written
Psalm 50:10–13, 15“For every beast of the forest is Mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills. I know every bird of the mountains, and everything that moves in the field is Mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world and all it contains are Mine. Call on Me in the day of trouble; I will rescue you, and you shall honor and glorify Me.”
How?
The provision always came in ways I did not expect. I kept trusting God and believing He would provide—even when I could not see how. Sometimes it came from a gift I made for someone that others suddenly wanted, too. Sometimes it came as an unexpected refund or a surprising job opportunity. Sometimes it came through a friend who felt prompted by the Lord to help.
It rarely came early. It rarely came the way I imagined. But it always came.
Prayer
Lord, You own everything. The whole world is Yours. You feed the sparrows—the most common of birds—and I know my family is precious to You.
When I am in trouble, I can call on You, and You hear me. If irresponsible choices have brought me here, forgive me and teach me to be a wise steward of what You entrust to me.
Help me trust You before I see the answer. I wait and watch expectantly for Your provision. I thank You in advance for what You will do.
Takeaway
God is not limited by what is in my bank account. He is Jehovah Jireh—my Provider, and He has never failed me yet.
