One Meal a Week

It’s interesting that we feed ourselves three meals a day, yet many of us think feeding ourselves spiritually once a week is enough. This helps explain why many who call themselves Christians do not look or live much differently from the world. If we are followers of Christ, our lives should look very different.
It Is Written
JAMES 1:22 -25 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he
was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.
Follow Me
In the days when Jesus began His public ministry, He approached ordinary men and said, “Follow Me.” They immediately left their professions and even their families to follow Him. As believers, we should follow Jesus even now. His example is recorded in the four gospels.
Prayer
Lord, forgive us for dishonoring Your name and kingdom by acting like the world rather than like You and Your ways. Help us take personal responsibility to read, study, and meditate on You and Your word. Show us how to follow You and walk in ways that bring You glory and honor.
Takeaway
Doing and keeping the word promises a blessing in what I do.
